SMSVC Grows, Adds Union Gas Limited

Union Gas, one of Canadaas Top 100 Employers and a major Canadian natural gas storage, transmission and distribution company with over 100 years of experience and service to customers, is now the newest company to join the Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC) as a charter member.

Joining late in the year, but before the January 15, 2016 deadline for charter member enrollment, Union Gas joins the ranks of other charter members including AK Steel, ArcelorMittal, NUCOR, Praxair, Steel Dynamics Inc., SSAB, and U. S. Steel. Charter members of the consortium enjoy additional benefits such as discounted membership fees, voting for project selection, and guaranteed membership. Members who join after the January deadline will require approval by existing members.

As a member of SMSVC and a supplier to the steel industry, Union Gas will benefit from direct interaction with steel manufacturers which can lead to better marketing opportunities and enhanced relationship development.

The mission of the consortium is to use simulation and visualization technologies to make steel manufacturing more viable across its value chain. Projects will be conducted in the critical areas of operational efficiency, energy efficiency, reliability and maintenance, workplace safety, workforce development, environmental impact, raw materials and smart manufacturing.

Companies interested in becoming members and participating in the project selection process should enroll now. For more information, visit www.steelconsortium.org.
