“Development and Validation of Optimization Tool for Continuous Caster Operations Based on CFD Simulations” co-authored by CIVS Graduate Research Assistant Sai Bhuvanesh Nandipati, CIVS Senior Research Engineer Kyle Toth, CIVS Associate Director for Operations Armin Silaen, and from SSAB Americas Yufeng Wang, Sunday Abraham and Dallas Brown.

“Modeling Dynamic Burden Behavior in a Secondary Lead Reverberatory Furnace Using Computational Fluid Dynamics” co-authored by CIVS Senior Research Engineer Nicholas Walla, CIVS Graduate Research Assistant Zachary Holmes, CIVS Graduate Research Assistant Misbahuddin Syed, CIVS Associate Director for Operations Armin Silaen, from Gopher Resource Jason Schirck, Joseph Trouba, and Joseph Grogan, and from RHI Magnesita Alexandra Anderson.

The TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition brings together more than 4,000 engineers, scientists, business leaders, and other professionals in the minerals, metals, and materials fields for a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary exchange of technical knowledge. TMS 2025 presented more than 100 symposia planned by all five TMS technical divisions and covering a broad range of topics related to minerals, metals, and materials science and engineering divided into 11 technical tracks.
