CIVS Applied Research in Advanced Computing Highlighted at Purdue Cyberinfrastructure Symposium

Dr. Chenn Zhou presented virtually, “Industrial Applications of Multi-Physics Computational Simulation and Visualization” at the Cyberinfrastructure Symposium on October 4th in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall at Purdue University- West Lafayette highlighting the various research and integration projects at CIVS. The Symposium, which is themed “Enabling Giant Leaps in Advanced Computing” was the perfect forum for Dr. Zhou who established the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS) and the Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC).

Dr. Zhou and the team at CIVS continue to follow their mission to innovate and integrate new technologies to solve industry problems such as increasing optimization with real time monitoring and control which allows proactive decision making to avoid critical operations issues. These methodologies as well as project examples, were a large part of Dr. Zhou’s presentation.

The Cyberinfrastructure Symposium was hosted by The Rosen Center for Advanced Computing (RCAC), the research computing department of Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP), the University’s central IT organization. The RCAC provides advanced computational resources and services to support Purdue researchers and is a research partner of the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation.
