NLMK invited CIVS to the Portage plant’s Family Day on June 28 to demonstrate the steel consortium’s latest developments. Jack Moreland (CIVS Senior Research Scientist) showcased the crane simulator. NLMK family members learned about crane controls and got to operate a virtual overhead crane. The event was attended by around 500 NLMK family members. Attendees toured the mill and enjoyed food and activities on site. NLMK is a member company of the SMSVC.
