On August 7, CIVS staff had a productive visit to Finkl Steel in Chicago. CIVS presented research and projects in areas of safety, EAF, ladle, casting, and reheating furnace. The group also had comprehensive tour to the plant, followed by energetic and engaging discussions with their managers and engineers, including possible collaborative projects. The visit was organized by Dan Stewart, Sr. Melt Shop Process Metallurgist. Thank you to Dan and the Finkl Steel team for hosting the wonderful visit.
